My name is Aaron Mangoroban, a massive procrastinator, online student, linux geek, trying hard amateur photographer, plastic modeler and frustrated guitar player. I have been working at Johns Hopkins Hospital for almost three years now, one of the United States’ top hospital. I have started here as a helpdesk agent and now works as Network Technician, responsible for desktop support for one of the hospital’s biggest department.
I was born in Manila, Philippines but grew up in the southern island of Cebu, Philippines. I graduated from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City with a degree in Business Administration. After graduating from college, I spent some time working in a telecommunications company before venturing out to start my own business. Those were fun times and that was when I started geeking out.
In June 2001, I moved to the United States to be with my wife who has immigrated to work in Baltimore, MD. We have been here since then. We have two beautiful and rambunctious kids that just complete our otherwise lonely existence in this new country. I am currently working on my second degree taking up Computer and Information Systems at University of Maryland University College.
I have been playing around with Linux since 1995 and have gone full Linux at home for almost five years now. I still am forced to work with Windows because of work but I am trying to get around it as much as I can. I have come to accept that Windows will feed hungry mouths but Linux and open source feeds my hungry mind.
When I have free time, which has become very rare nowadays, I’d like to work on my scale models that I have stocked up all these years and play the two guitars my wife has bought me. I also dream of learning how to play the drums that we barely use.
I am addicted to the adrenaline rush game of airsoft and military simulations, a fulfillment of my childhood dream of becoming a “weekend soldier”.
About this site
Net3rror started almost two years ago and has been on and off all these time. It is my attempt to share out the stuff I worked with, play around with and go around with. I write about my hobbies, my interests and interesting stuff I see around me everyday.
This site used to run on Drupal and have recently migrated to WordPress. I intend to modify this theme I currently am using to something I could hopefully call my own in the future. I would be posting images I have taken using my Nikon D60 and projects I have work on my Linux lab at my home’s basement.
